Beppu
Heute haben wir von Kitakyushu einen Tagesausflug nach Beppu gemacht. Hier gibt es sehr viele heiße Quellen und der Ort dampft sozusagen aus allen Löchern 😉
Angekommen haben wir uns auf den Weg zum „Weg der Hölle“ gemacht. Hier sind die meisten heißen Quellen zu bestaunen. Wir haben uns aber gegen eine Tour entschieden, mit der man in jede der heißen Quellen Eintritt erhalten hätte, da es doch ein recht teurer Spaß gewesen wäre…
Unser Ziel war eine „Steamed Cooking Kitchen“. Hier kann man mit dem Dampf der heißen Quellen sein eigenes Essen kochen, was wir unbedingt ausprobieren wollten. Nach einer Wartezeit von knapp 40 Minuten, die wir mit einem kurzen Spiel überbrückt haben, ging es dann los. (Lena hat gewonnen). Wir haben uns für eine bunte Gemüseauswahl, etwas Fleisch und Reis und Eier entschieden.
Alles wurde auf unterschiedliche Siebe übereinandergestapelt und dann in den, sahen wir mal, „Natur-Dampfgarer“ gepackt. Mit einer Stoppuhr bewaffnet mussten wir dann nach 7 Minuten die Eier herausholen, nach 15 Minuten ein Teil des Gemüses und den Reis und nach 30 Minuten das restliche Gemüse und das Fleisch.
Stück für Stück haben wir alles genossen. Alles hat super geschmeckt und es war ein tolles Erlebnis.
Anschließend sind wir noch ein Stück den Berg hinauf, vorbei an einigen weiteren heißen Quellen. Auf dem Rückweg haben wir dann unsere Füße in ein heißes Bad gestreckt und ein wenig entspannt.
Da wir beim Ankommen am Bahnsteig gerade die Bahn Richtung Beppu Station verpasst haben sind wir die 5 Kilometer am Meer zu Fuß zurückgelaufen, um uns dann wieder auf den Rückweg nach Kitakyushu ins Hostel zu machen.
Dabei sind uns erneut die Gullideckel ins Auge gefallen. Wir hatte noch gar nicht erwähnt: Hier in Japan hat jede Stadt ihre eigens kreierten Gullideckel…!!! Der Vorteil dabei ist: Es steht zumeist auch in germanischen Buchstaben der Name der Stadt darauf. Wenn man also die Straßenschilder mit den Hiraganas nicht lesen kann sucht man einfach den Boden nach hinweisen ab, wo man sich gerade befindet…!!!😉
Am Abend hatten wir noch ein nettes Gespräch mit dem japanischen Hostelmitarbeiter. Wir haben uns über die Unterscheide und Gemeinsamkeiten von Japanern und Deutschen ausgetauscht und er hat uns noch bei der Suche nach dem von Andi vor 8 Jahren besuchten Messerladen geholfen. Die Suche stellte sich als nicht so einfach heraus.
Morgen wollen wir dann ein wenig in Fukuoka bummeln gehen.
